Job Description

Description We are looking for skilled accountants and a payroll manager to contribute to a project-based role with San Joaquin Regional Transit District in Stockton, California. This is a contract position lasting 3-4 months, requiring immediate availability. The ideal candidates will bring expertise in financial processes, auditing, and payroll management to ensure the success of this initiative. Responsibilities: - Perform comprehensive financial audits to ensure compliance with established regulations and standards. - Prepare and manage detailed budgets, monitoring expenditure to maintain accuracy. - Oversee payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of employee compensation and benefits. - Utilize accounting software systems to streamline financial tasks and reporting. - Maintain and reconcile accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) records. - Analyze and manage balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. - Collaborate with team members to address financial discrepancies and implement solutions. - Generate financial reports and documentation to support project evaluations and decision-making. - Ensure adherence to financial legislation and company policies in all accounting practices. - Support ERP system processes related to accounting and payroll functions. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting or payroll management roles. - Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ADP and Concur. - Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration into financial processes. - Strong knowledge of auditing practices and procedures. - Ability to manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) efficiently. - Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail. - Understanding of financial legislation and compliance requirements. - Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate within a project environment.
