Job Description

NYC Alliance Company LLC is excited to announce an opening for a Designer specializing in Sweaters for our 525 America brand. In this role, you will be responsible for designing contemporary and stylish sweaters that align with the brand's vision and meet customer demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative sweater designs that reflect current market trends and the unique identity of the 525 brand
  • Conduct research on seasonal trends, yarns, and fabrication techniques to inform design decisions
  • Create detailed technical sketches, tech packs, and specifications for effective communication with production teams
  • Collaborate with the merchandising and production teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet cost targets
  • Participate in the fitting process and provide constructive feedback on garment fit and construction
  • Manage the sample development process, ensuring timely completion of samples for review and approval
  • Attend trade shows and market appointments to gather inspiration and insights for future collections

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
  • 5+ years and add a note that Cut and sew knits experience would be a plus but not required.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and proficiency in knitwear design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design software
  • Solid understanding of yarns, fabrics, and knitting techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
