Position: Remote Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, as well as a passion for sports and helping athletes succeed. This position will be responsible for accurately and efficiently coding and billing medical services provided to our clients, ensuring timely reimbursement and compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and accurately code medical procedures and services provided to clients using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims
- Resolve any billing discrepancies or denials in a timely manner
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations and guidelines
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any billing issues
- Assist in developing and implementing billing and coding policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and client information
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in medical billing and coding preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a sports medicine or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Passion for sports and helping athletes succeed
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time and a part-time position (3040 hrs/week) or Part-time (20 hrs/week). The Medical Billing & Coding Specialist will primarily work in an office setting, with occasional travel to attend meetings or conferences. The role may also require some evening or weekend work, depending on the needs of the company.
